What Nutritional Value Are You Getting from Your Green Smoothie Bowl?

Green smoothie bowls offer a wealth of nutritional benefits. They’re loaded with essential vitamins and minerals like A, C, and K, plus potassium, calcium, and more! Avocado contains healthy fats that are great for your heart, while fiber from kale and fruits aids digestion. The Tropical Avocado with Kale blend alone provides 57 mg of Vitamin C, which is 60% of your daily value, and 5g of dietary fiber, which is 17% of your daily value. The use of natural sweeteners like agave nectar and unsweetened coconut milk keeps sugar content lower. These bowls are not only delicious but also nutrient-dense—a perfect option for a balanced diet.

What Are Some Good Toppings for Your Smoothie Bowl?

Some might argue that the best part of a smoothie bowl are the toppings, which enhance the texture and flavor. You really can’t go wrong with any mix of fruits, nuts, etc., but if you’re looking for some tasty combos to top your green smoothie bowl, here are a few yummy ideas. You can start with a classic smoothie bowl trio: strawberries, coconut flakes, and blueberries. Or, if you’re feeling tropical, use sliced mango, kiwi, or some extra pineapple chunks. Another delicious option is combining sliced bananas with raspberries and a sprinkle of chia seeds for the perfect blend of sweetness and crunch. For a bit more protein and texture, toss in some sliced almonds, pumpkin seeds, or chopped walnuts. You can also add granola, which comes in an assortment of flavors. To make your bowl a bit sweeter (and super visually-appealing), finish with a light drizzle of honey or additional agave nectar.

Now that you have the information you need to make your recipe, grab your blender and ingredients, and let’s create this yummy homemade smoothie bowl—the perfect mix of health and taste in one dish!

Ingredients

  • 2 cup DOLE® CRAFTED SMOOTHIE BLENDS® Tropical Avocado with Kale
  • 1/4 cup DOLE® Frozen Tropical Gold® Pineapple Chunks
  • 1/4 cup DOLE® 100% Pineapple Juice
  • 1/4 cup raw agave nectar
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened coconut milk
  • Optional toppings

Method

  1. Combine all ingredients in a blender; blend until completely smooth.
  2. Pour base into an empty CREAMi™ Pint up to the MAX FILL line. Place storage lid on pint and freeze for 24 hours.
  3. Remove pint from freezer and remove lid from pint. Place pint in outer bowl, install CREAMi Paddle onto outer bowl lid, and lock the lid assembly on the outer bowl.  Place bowl assembly on motor base and twist the handle right to raise the platform and lock in place.
  4. Select SMOOTHIE BOWL.  When processing is complete, transfer to a bowl and serve immediately.  NOTE: If your freezer is set to a very cold temperature, the smoothie bowl may look crumbly. If this occurs, select RE-SPIN to process the mixture a little more if not adding mix-ins.
