Grilled Pineapple and Jalapeno Mezcal Margarita

Grilled pineapple, jalapeno, and mezcal give this margarita an extra-smoky flavor with a bit of heat.

Ingredients

  • 1 can (227 g.) DOLE® Pineapple Slices, drained, reserve juice Learn More
  • 1 small jalapeno pepper, sliced in half lengthwise, seeds removed
  • 50 ml tequila blanco
  • 25 ml mezcal
  • 25 ml agave nectar
  • 25 ml lime juice

Steps to Sunshine!

  1. Grill pineapple slices and half of the jalapeno over medium-high heat for 4 minutes on each side until grill marks appear.
  2. Add 3 pineapple slices and grilled jalapeno to a shaker.
  3. Muddle pineapple and jalapeno.
  4. Add reserved pineapple juice, tequila, mezcal, agave, and lime juice. Shake well.
  5. Strain over a salt-rimmed glass filled with ice. Garnish with remaining jalapeno and pineapple slice.
  6. NOTE: Reduce mezcal for a less smoky flavor.
