Musa Fabric
As part of our Dole Promise towards zero fruit loss and reduced landfills necessary for carbon neutrality, Dole Sunshine Company has partnered with social enterprise Musa Fabric to turn banana waste into fibres of purpose through a partnership creating fashion products, woven by marginalized communities. We believe that by putting the prosperity of people and the planet at the heart of everything we do, the sun shines brighter for us all.
Better-for-you Refreshments
We followed our All Natural Seasons™ Tropical Fruit launch with a further zero-sugar new product: Dole All Natural Sparkling Fruit Drink. Delivering on the same promise, this affordably-priced fruit drink is packed with vitamin C and contains no added sugar, no preservatives and no artificial ingredients.
Clean Hands Against COVID
Our sustainability and engineering teams have turned colourful metal drums into touch-free handwashing sinks. Placed in strategic spots, these facilities – with free soap and demonstrations on proper handwashing – help in preventing the spread of COVID-19.
Clean Sanitation for All
Better sanitation is essential for preventing diseases and avoiding malnutrition, particularly in sick children. As such, we’re supporting the The Zero Open Defecation program in the Philippines. Since 2014, the program has helped to install 1,810 hygienic toilets in homes, raising living standards for families throughout the country.
Covid-19 Isolation Unit
In August 2020, we teamed up with Howard Hubbard Memorial Hospital to create a state-of-the-art COVID-19 isolation unit. This world-class facility has been able to provide critical help for over 250 people during the global pandemic.
Pandemic Help
Dole employees in the Philippines were quick to volunteer when the pandemic struck, assisting in building a COVID-19 test centre. They also offered support with training and capacity-building to ensure that local personnel could carry out COVID-19 PCR testing. We provided donations to help and offered the use of our own PCR machine.
