Step 2: Melt butter in large skillet over medium heat. Add apple slices and cook, stirring occasionally until lightly browned (6-8 min). Step 3: Reduce heat to low and stir in brown sugar. Continue to simmer, stirring occasionally until apples are soft and caramelized. Step 4: Dust a sheet of parchment paper with flour. Place puff pastry dough on parchment and roll it out to flatten the top. Cut puff pastry dough into two equal pieces. Step 5: Arrange apples in a tight row lengthwise down the middle of one puff pastry sheet, leaving a one inch border on all sides. Pour remaining syrup from the apples over the top of the apples. Brush beaten egg around the edges of pastry. Top with remaining pastry sheet and press down on the edges with tines of a fork to seal. Step 6: Cut six 1-inch wide slits down the center of your pastry to create vents. Step 7: Brush pastry with egg and sprinkle the top generously with sugar. Step 8: Bake for 15-17 minutes or until top is golden brown.
