GROW is a global food and agriculture technology accelerator positioned at the nexus of industry and innovation in Southeast Asia. With a strong focus on delivering impact and sustainability to the regional food system, Dole is joining GROW to support Agri-Food tech start-ups and the local ecosystem through the Singapore Food Bowl program – continuing our mission to bring change and create positive systemic impact on food security.
Dole partners with Ananas Anam to turn pineapple plant leaves into a natural textile that is driving sustainable design, furthering its commitment to zero fruit loss by 2025. Ananas Anam’s Piñatex® is an innovative, vegan and natural alternative to leather made from sustainably sourced pineapple leaf fibres extracted from Dole’s harvested pineapple plant leaves.
Second Harvest Japan
Second Harvest Japan is one of Food banks in Japan which is registered by the Japan government as a non-profit organization. It aims to create a Food Safety Net in Japan.In order to do so, they deliver food to children’s homes, single-mother shelters, centers for the disabled as well as many other welfare organizations and individuals in need. It has been working to improve food security (Access to safe, nutritious food on a daily basis) while helping food industry companies deliver their food donations to people without enough food. Thus, their activities provide an alternative not to dispose food that is still safe for human consumption but cannot be sold on business.
